The majority of hotel beds for tourists is recorded in Tbilisi, the capital city of Georgia. The due indicators were published by National Tourism Administration of Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development.
According to the Agency, there are 17 956 hotel beds in the capital city. Adjara Region ranks second with 12 126 hotel beds and Samtskhe-Javakheti Region is third with 9 750 hotel beds.
According to Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, in 2017 a record number of tourists was registered – 7 555 936 ones, up 1 194 433 ones as compared to the 2016 indicators. The year on year upturn marked +18.8%.
According to the Ministry, the national tourism administration continues conducting trainings for improving the service quality. About 100 employees of hotels have been already trained, the Ministry says.
